How to Ensure You Graduate in Four Years

1

Follow the Four-Year Plan

Stick to the four-year academic plan outlined by your department to stay on course with your academic progress and goals.

2

Complete Required Credit Hours

Aim to complete at least 31 credit hours per year (including summer) to maintain full-time status and stay on track.

3

Stay on Track

  • Avoid dropping or failing classes without promptly making up the coursework within the four-year timeframe.
  • Steer clear of academic or judicial issues that could delay your progress.
  • Register for courses during the first three days of the registration period.

4

Commit to Your Major

Stay committed to the major you declare in your first year. (The guarantee does not apply to students pursuing additional majors or programs requiring external licensure.)

Programs not covered by the guarantee include: Accounting, Architecture, Art Education, Elementary Education, Music Education, Music Management, Nursing, Secondary Biology Education, Secondary English Education, Secondary Mathematics Education, and Secondary Social Sciences Education.

5

Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress

Keep up with the academic standards outlined in the college catalog to ensure steady progress toward graduation.

Graduate on Time or We Cover Your Tuition

If you follow all guidelines yet are unable to graduate in four years, ¹û¶³´«Ã½ will cover your remaining tuition until you complete your degree. This coverage applies to tuition only, excluding room and board, and is adjusted for any state and federal aid. Additional conditions apply for summer courses and extra semesters.

What I love about Florida Southern is that you're not just a number. My professors look me in the eye and ask, 'What do you think?' They challenge you to do your best.
