Polk Museum of Art: 2024 Summer Fellowship Program

The is pleased to share its esteemed Summer Fellowship Program for the 2024 summer semester. This initiative offers ¹û¶³´«Ã½ students a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the inner workings of one of the nation’s leading fine arts museums, encouraging career path exploration within Museum and non-profit organizations. The program spans six weeks, beginning May 31 and concluding July 19. Participants will choose from one of six distinctive departments, providing a multifaceted experience.
The highly competitive Summer Fellowship Program is open to undergraduate ¹û¶³´«Ã½ students, irrespective of major, provided they have completed their first year. Fellows will engage in department-specific activities tailored to personal interests and career aspirations. Activities and weekly collaborative projects with other fellows culminate into an end-of-summer Gallery Talk, providing students a platform to exhibit their designs and showcase interaction skills honed during the program.

Truly, we gain invaluable insight into what we do at the Museum through each Fellow's individual lens — and each Fellow will undoubtedly discover new paths to explore and new talents they might not know they have,” said Dr. Alexander Rich, Executive Director and Chief Curator of the Polk Museum of Art and Chair of the Department of Art History and Museum Studies.

Demonstrated through numerous educational programs and opportunities, Dr. Rich reflects his commitment to academic success and openly shares his enthusiasm for future Fellows.
“The career opportunities available within the worlds of museums and non-profits are broad, and Summer Fellows have an exceptional chance not only to build their resumes but also to become an integral and impactful part of the life of the Polk Museum of Art for six weeks this summer,” said Dr. Rich.
Applications for the program are open and are accepted until March 22 at 5 P.M. Chosen applicants receive an honorarium of $1,200 and on-campus housing at no additional cost. The Polk Museum of Art is a nationally accredited fine art teaching museum that provides educational and enriching experiences through art.
